Frump Fighters left Zapier for n8n and got a $400 plan refund

Nuance moved Frump Fighters off Zapier in 2021. Corina got more than $400 back on the yearly plan. The $5 a month line is Nuance's server pitch, not her bill.

Nuance moved their client Frump Fighters from Zapier to n8n. Giovanni Segar published the project page on 23 September 2021. Corina, the founder, is quoted on it.

The page is the vendor’s. It has a refund and a hosting pitch. It does not list the zaps.

The Zapier → n8n playbook is the place for credentials, schedules, and steps that an export will not carry.

The step that costs extra

Segar’s example is a form that collects a full name. Splitting that into first and last, for a CRM, is another Zapier step. He says that step is off the free plan, and that each step also burns the task limit on its own.

That is the pricing habit he wanted Frump Fighters off of. n8n is open source. He writes that you can run it on your own server for as little as $5 a month.

Keep those two dollars apart. The $5 is Nuance’s general server line. The page never says it is Frump Fighters’ bill.

Purchases during the cutover

They rebuilt the existing automations so the new ones matched, or did more. The constraint they name is a person who buys while the move is in progress. They tried not to miss that order.

No app list. No failed step. No count of workflows.

What Corina got back

Her quote is the result they publish:

The team at Nuance did a great job seamlessly moving me from Zapier to N8N. I was able to get a $400+ refund right away by canceling my yearly Zapier plan! Now I can scale without worrying about my monthly costs skyrocketing.

So the yearly Zapier plan came off, and more than $400 came back. That is the figure I would repeat. I would not turn the $5 line into her new invoice.

The part that is about the next consultant

The rest of the page is what happens if Nuance leaves. Segar says the n8n forum is busy. Someone who already knows JavaScript and Zapier can learn the editor in about an hour. They leave video or written docs before the engagement ends. If nobody who knows n8n is free, he says you can rebuild the flow in Zapier to get through a jam.

He does not say Frump Fighters had to do that.

Leave the old account in place until one real purchase has run through the new flow. A refund does not recreate an order that landed in neither tool. Ask for the zap list before you treat this page as a cost model. The playbook is where those connections get written down.
